Danville's water comes from East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) — a different system than the DSRSD/Zone 7 water that serves Dublin and part of San Ramon. EBMUD draws primarily from the Mokelumne River watershed and reports a comparatively soft-to-moderate hardness range of 1-7 grains per gallon, noticeably softer than the Zone 7 cities nearby.
